80% of S. Korean websites removed”Active X” plug-in tool for verification
January 7, 2020
South Korea’s online plug-in “Active X” has
been removed from most websites that used the security program.
According to data from the science ministry on Sunday,… the plug-in that caused a lot
of headache and complaints among users of financial or verification services was scrapped
from nearly 2-thousand corporate websites,… roughly 80 percent of the total figure.
It was also removed from 70 percent of websites of public organisations.
The government, in 2017, pledged to do away with the plug-in by the year 2020,… due
to compatibility issues with non-Microsoft browsers,… especially on mobile platforms.
